Levallois-Perret and Amsterdam – March 2nd, 2023.
Doctolib, the leading ehealth company, has acquired Siilo, the largest messaging app for healthcare professionals in Europe. This strategic move will enable the two players to offer a comprehensive solution to care teams, empowering them with new collaboration services to improve patient care.
Siilo was founded in 2016 and has become the go-to medical messaging application in Europe, empowering healthcare professionals to seek peer advice and collaborate on patient cases securely. With nearly half a million healthcare professionals exchanging 40 million messages per month, Siilo brings extensive reach and mobile expertise to Doctolib. This experience and knowledge will be a valuable asset to Doctolib as it continues to expand its suite of services and improve the experience for care teams and patients across Europe.
Doctolib has been leading the way in healthcare technology in Europe, offering a suite of services to 340,000 healthcare personnel and 70 million patients – from online booking solutions, to medical and clinical next generation software. To facilitate better communication and collaboration among its practitioners, Doctolib introduced in 2022 ‘Doctolib Team’, a secure messaging service for care teams, which has been seamlessly integrated into Doctolib’s desktop booking management system and electronic health record services.
By combining the mobile expertise and reach of Siilo with the success of ‘Doctolib Team,’ Doctolib will be able to deliver an unparalleled user experience to care teams and expand its impact even further, connecting over 800,000 healthcare professionals.
“We’re thrilled to welcome the expert teams from Siilo to the Doctolib adventure,” said Elise Bert-Leduc, Doctolib’s Chief Revenue Officer. ”Effective collaboration among care teams is not only essential for delivering high-quality patient care, but it can also significantly benefit practitioners in their daily work routine. With this strategic move, we’re better equipped to make the healthcare journey even more seamless and efficient for everyone.”
“I’m delighted about this exciting new chapter for Siilo,” said Joost Bruggeman, Siilo’s co-founder and CEO. “By joining forces with Doctolib, we have the opportunity to bring secure and frictionless collaboration to healthcare professionals across Europe.”
Siilo’s software will remain a standalone product and will also be integrated into ‘Doctolib Team’ in Germany, Italy and France.
