More than 400 German organisations use Siilo Messenger

Amsterdam/Hamburg, 2 August 2022 – Siilo Messenger continues to record strong growth in Germany in the first half of 2022. Around 73,000 healthcare professionals and more than 400 organisations now communicate via the Siilo network. This corresponds to a user growth of around 22 percent from January to June 2022, making Germany the second largest growth market for Siilo.

Siilo is the largest network for healthcare professionals in Europe with a total of around 420,000 users. Since entering the market in 2019, the network of the Amsterdam-based health tech company has also been growing rapidly in Germany. While there were still around 60,000 German users at the beginning of 2022, there are currently already around 73,000 medical professionals exchanging information via the DSGVO-compliant messenger. Every day, an average of 70 doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals join them. The users themselves actively contribute to the growth of the network by inviting colleagues to Siilo. To date, more than 29,000 invitations have been sent via Siilo in Germany.

Exchange in organisations and groups is steadily increasing
More than 400 German clinics, practices, professional societies and associations with around 34,500 members are currently active on Siilo. The number of chat groups is also growing rapidly: German users are currently represented in more than 12,000 groups, compared to about 7,000 at the beginning of the year. In the chat groups, which the users create themselves, doctors can for example, get advice from colleagues in another ward or another clinic and discuss patient cases or emergency plans as a team. About 60 per cent of all German users exchange information in chat groups via Siilo.

Joost Bruggeman, co-founder and CEO of Siilo, explains: Especially in difficult cases, no doctor makes a decision without consulting colleagues. Asking specialists in another practice, department or clinic is an integral part of everyday clinical life and is increasingly taking place digitally. This is clearly shown by the increasing number of group chats at Siilo.” The trend is also emerging internationally. Of the 420,000 Siilo users worldwide, 60 per cent are also active in group chats.

The GDPR-compliant messenger is specially tailored to the needs of medical professionals and supports everyday clinical collaboration. For example, users can anonymise photos with the swipe of a finger and discuss patient cases with experts without having to know their contact details. The messenger is available free of charge for medical professionals in the App Store and Google Play Store.
